Our First Day in Zurich!

Hello again from your slightly less jet lagged favorite bloggers!

It's only Day 2 of our wild adventure on land in Europe and we've already seen a lot. Today we explored the glorious city of Zurich. The photo above is a modest view of the Alps taken from a bridge above the Limmat, a river teeming with swans (which are vicious creatures, just like hippos #commonknowledge #factszialearnedtoday).

We started off the day by going into the Altstadt (old city) of Zurich, a beautiful stony area filled with staircases, small shops, and fountains from the 1700s (which you can drink the water from #morefactsoftheday). We then headed to the oldest vegetarian restaurant in Europe for a lovely lunch! On the way, we saw this sign...

Veganism: Idalia's sacred and secret way of amazing strength. #shh #donttell

We also happened upon Idalia's parent's old apartment (thanks to Sophia, who quickly took on the role of tour guide). We stood outside of the building for a little while in the pose shown below, hoping to meet our true loves, but they never revealed themselves to us.
#stilltrying #nevergiveup

We spent the rest of the day wandering around the city. We went inside two churches, the Grossmünster and the Fraumünster, both of which had beautiful stain glass windows (the ones in the Fraumünster were done by Chagall).

Off to Munich tomorrow!

Tschüß!

Word of the Day:

rülpsen = to burp

Idalia mag rülpsen und Zia mag rülpsen nicht. Wir haben das über Abendessen gelernt. Wir haben auch gelernt, dass nach man isst, man ist satt. Aber, wenn man trinkt zu viel, dann man voll ist.
