~The Day of Goodbyes and New Beginnings Part 2~

Hayyy from Mönchengladbach baby!

Today began sadly as we had our first goodbye with Berlin in the rain/snow/sleet/slush/hail/grossness falling from the sky. We think Berlin was crying because the whole city, or rather the city itself, was sad to see us go. We also had another goodbye this morning. Remember Zia's walking problem? Well combine that with buying cheap shoes and you've got two broken and ~holy~ pairs of shoes. This morning Zia had a tearful goodbye with her shoes as she stuffed them into the tiny opening of a floating garbage can in the middle of a street in Berlin. The shoes that she was wearing today also had a bit of a rough time, as there is a giant crack in the sole of one of them. Luckily, Mönchengladbach (MG for shizort) IS a discount shoe store a.k.a. there's a discount shoe store every other store. "Hindenburgstraße is the place to be!!" - Soon (in 6ish years) to be Dr. Sophia L. Bamert. Truer words have never been spoken.

Idalia said goodbye to something else today as well. It was to her dignity. She fell (okay, only slipped, don't worry mama!) down the slippery stairs at the S-bahn station carrying her five hundred pound (okay, fifty pound) suitcase and a shopping bag with our single half of a red pepper, opened bag of brussel sprouts, a partial loaf of a brick (okay, bread), and one vegan yogurt. Also in that bag, was the second tiniest spoon in the world, which an angry German lady reluctantly gave Idalia so she could eat her yogurt. #shoutouttoQD #hopeyourereadingthis #wemissyouandthetinyspoontoo

After a long train ride, during which Idalia decided that her wedding bouquet will be the seedy center of an eaten pepper, we arrived in Mönchengladbach to a glowing Sophia with open arms. We also found this in the sky:

And this guy:

This is obviously Pilates, the founder of the exercise pilates, and MG's claim to fame

We've got a bunch of exciting adventures ahead, so stay tuned. We may or may not be going on a bunch of thrilling and heart-warming day trips around Germany and maybe feat. another country too!

With Pilates and love,

Zidalia

Word of the Day:

der Karton = Box

Heute hat Zia neue Schuhe gekauft. Die Verkäuferin hat Zia gefragt, ob sie die Schuhe in einem Karton wollte. Wir waren verwirrt, weil wir das Wort "Karton" nie gehört haben. Sophia hat uns geholfen. Danke Sophia! Mönchengladbach hat viele Schuhgeschäfte, sie verkaufen sehr billig Schuhe.
