~The Day of Goodbyes and New Beginnings~

Ladies and Gentlemen, the moment you've all been waiting for is finally here...
WE'RE IN BERLIN!!!

(nuff said)

But only after a long adventure yesterday...

We started off the day in Schrobenhausen, where Zia's Oma bought her tights made for 11-12 year old girls. You might (not) be surprised to know that they fit! #ziasrockinemtoday

After that, we had the first of many goodbyes. Feel free to shed exactly one tear at this very moment. We said goodbye to Zia's Oma after a really lovely time with her in Schrobenhausen. So, we got on the train to go back to Munich.

We didn't want to worry anyone (which is why we haven't brought it up until now), but Idalia's left thumb has been weirdly hurting a lot this trip. BUT, have no fear, it's totally fine and normal (or as normal as it can be) now. Idalia noticed on the way back to Munich that it was feeling better and Zia remarked, "Maybe it was just growing pains!" (This will only be funny for those of you who know what Idalia's thumbs look like, #sorrynotsorry to everyone else) #stumps4lyfe

Once we dropped all our stuff off at Zia's Aunt's house, we moseyed on over to Marienplatz for some outdoor perusin'. We found this really cute market and were super excited to look around, until we realized IT WAS ALL MEAT. Every person in Munich must buy their meat there. #seriouslythough Luckily, we found a few shops that were fruit and vegetable filled, which was more our kind of scene. We also found this:

For dinner, we went to the Hofbräuhaus, which is a huge eating hall filled with classic live Bavarian music, men in lederhosen selling pretzels, and liters on liters on liters of beer.

Brace yourself for another sentimental goodbye. In the crowded U-bahn station at Marienplatz we had a solemn goodbye with Xaver, Zia's broski. Bis Sommer (hopefully for both of us)! #bestmaninGermany #besttourguideofMunich

Then, on the U-bahn we met a lovely completely-drunk-out-of-their-minds-at-8:30pm young couple. They tried to impress us with their English, but it didn't really work. The lady was trying to show us her boyfriend's "shaved" legs in the midst of a slurred Gerglish conversation. We were tempted to show them our legs, but we didn't want to scare them... They ended up asking us what we were up to that night and we said, "going to Berlin of course" (#casual) and her response was, "ECHT?!" (Really?!) #duh we're badass. Ja, natürlich.

**Warning: third goodbye of the day. On the night train going to Berlin, we said goodbye to Zia's Aunt. We had such a wonderful time in Munich, it was said to see her (and the city) go. Hopefully, Zia and her Aunt will be reunited once again soon.

We settled in to our upright seats on the night train and Zia said, "Oh my god, this is gonna be ten hours of our life." Idalia only could think to say, "Oh my god, you're right."

Dun dun dun....

Word of the Day

die Maß = liter (of beer)
